Paintings from Portugal

In late 2003 I visited Portugal for the first time, painting with a number of other plein aire artists in the Algarve region in the South. While the area along the coast is quite developed , I was happy to find many colorful small fishing boats in the ports and on the beaches, many still in use in their original purpose. Inland, the villages were more quaint and picturesque. I certainly didn't begin to run out of subjects, bringing home 25 paintings from my two-week stint.
